pre-sjt should have been compulsory for IMG
Hi I think the implementation of sjt is unfair in one sense that the presjt was compulsory for uk medical final students or they had to fill a form to explain why they didn't give it but this not compulsory for international medical graduates(IMG) I am also an IMG declined the sjt pilot as I was given an option to take it if I wished. now this year I have to reapply to the fp program but havnt a clue about sjt as I havnt taken it and consequently had no feedback either so don't know how I would perform in the live round 2013 but this wouldntve happened had it been made compulsory that year rather than just offering s MP3 incentive .I think it should have been made compulsory for 2011 applicants bearing in mind that many may not succeed in clinical assessment or application like it has been for uk graduates so international students wouldve been fully involved.or given an opportunity this year to take a pilot.this is totally unfair.

Thank you for your comment. All international applicants to the Foundation Programme were given the opportunity to sit the pilot SJT for FP 2012. If you are applying to FP 2013, you will  have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the SJT through a fully-worked practice paper available on the UKFPO website - http://www.foundationprogramme.nhs.uk/pages/home, as well as a number of other resources. These will be published by June 1. All applicants to FP 2013 will have the same resources available to prepare with, and so will be on an equal footing when taking the SJT.
