Before we can introduce new selection processes, we must undertake a full-scale recruitment run to ensure the new process is robust. Situational Judgement Test (SJT) pilots have already taken place at 17 UK medical schools and 2 non-UK medical schools with positive feedback and results. We have also consulted with schools on how the Educational Performance Measure (EPM) score should be produced. However, before any new system is implemented it needs to be tested by all medical schools in the UK. As a result, we will run a Parallel Recruitment Exercise (PRE) which will involve a full scale pilot of both the EPM and SJT components involving those students applying for the Foundation Programme (FP) 2012.
Each medical school will have a PRE team consisting of a lead and two administrators who will manage the PRE at their school. Information for all staff and students will be sent through these leads.
You can find out more about how the EPM and SJT components will be piloted using the links on the left hand side.
