I am applying to FP 2013. How will this affect me?
The UK Foundation Programme Office (UKFPO) will continue to manage applications to the Foundation Programme. They will publish the application timeline and you will need to complete your online application, including foundation school preferences, in accordance with this. Your scores in the SJT and EPM will contribute to the application process.

I am registered to a UK medical school. Where do I take the SJT?
The SJT will be delivered by the medical school you are registered to on at least one of the two national dates (7 December 2012, 7 January 2013). Your school will contact you with details about the date and venue.
I am not registered to a UK medical school? Where do I take the SJT?
Applicants not currently registered to a UK medical school will take the SJT on one of the two national dates (7 December 2012, 7 December 2013) in London.
What happens if I am unwell or unable to complete the SJT as planned?
If you are ill, or you have extenuating circumstances which prevents you from taking part in the SJT you are registered for, there will be support to enable you to take the SJT on a back-up national date in January. You will need to complete the SJT as part of your application. We will publish more information about this in due course.
I usually have extra time for my university exams. Will this count for the SJT?
There will be support in place for applicants with disabilities, including extra time. We will publish more information about this in due course.
I am applying to the academic Foundation Programme for FP 2013. How will this affect me?
All applicants must complete all aspects of the application to the Foundation Programme, including the SJT and the EPM.
Separate recruitment processes to academic programmes will continue in parallel. The academic offers will be made only after the date of the last SJT, and only after academic programme offers have been accepted or rejected will the main round matching and allocation be run. The application timetable will be published by the UKFPO in due course.
I am applying to the Defence Deanery. How will this affect me?
All applicants must complete all aspects of the application to the Foundation Programme, including the SJT and the EPM. Separate recruitment processes to the Defence Deanery will continue in parallel.
I am due to graduate in 2012, but will be applying to FP2013. What does this mean for me?
If for whatever reason you are due to graduate in 2012 but will apply to FP 2013 the following will apply:
- For the purpose of academic comparison, your decile will be carried forward from the cohort that started your final year together
- You will need to retake the the SJT in the year in which you apply
- The educational achievements for your application score will be derived from the next recruitment round
